1.人類第六號染色體致癌基因定位及其致癌機制之研究
  本實驗室目前致力於研究人類6q25中的兩個新穎基因(TIAM2 & C6orf35)的細胞功能及致癌的機制。
2.血清素傳遞系統基因在躁鬱症致病機制上的分子遺傳研究
  目前本實驗室的主題是利用分子生物技術來研究血清素傳遞系統基因在躁鬱症的致病機制。
3.人類第九纖維母細胞生長因子基因表現之調控機制
  人類第九纖維母細胞生長因子(FGF9)是一個高度保留在各個物種且具有促進多種細胞生長的基因。研究顯示FGF9在胚胎發育、器官形成、性別發展和維持生命機能上可能扮演重要角色。目前本實驗室的主題是研究FGF9基因表現之調控機制及其在性別發育上所扮演角色。
4.生物資訊學
  本實驗室希望有系統的朝向生物資訊學教育推廣、研究發展、及服務等方面努力。目前的研究方向是研究LCR在基因體的分佈及其影響、及發展癌症基因體醫學相關之資料庫。

1. To map potential tumor suppressor genes at human chromosome 6 and to characterize the involved tumorigenesis mechanism
  Now it is focused on characterization of two novel genes (TIAM2 & C6orf35) in our lab and tries to demonstrate the cellular function and the tumorigenesis mechanism.
2. Functional and Genetic Studies of Serotonin System Genes in the Etiology of Bipolar Affective Disorder.
  BPD is a common and complex human disease. Our laboratory has been devoted to applying the molecular biology and genetic techniques to illustrate the role of serotonin transmission in the etiology of BPD.
3. Gene regulation of human fibroblast growth factor 9
  human fibroblast growth factor 9 (FGF9) is a important and pleiotropic growth factor for cell growth with highly evolutional conservation across species. FGF9 have be show to play important roles in embryogenesis, organ development, sex development and vital maintenance. However, few studies about FGF9 gene regulation have be reported. Our lab is focus on the regulation of FGF9 gene expression and its role in sex development.
4. Bioinformatics
  We are force on the traning course, research , and services about Bioinformatics. The ongoing research projects like LCR database and the BEST tool will also provide rich information in biomedical related studies. The study of "TAG" has identified few novel genes that are involved in the tumorigenesis. Currently we are working on biological confirmation.
