1. To map potential tumor suppressor genes at human chromosome 6 and to characterize the involved tumorigenesis mechanism |
Now it is focused on characterization of two novel genes (TIAM2 & C6orf35) in our lab and tries to demonstrate the cellular function and the tumorigenesis mechanism. |
2. Functional and Genetic Studies of Serotonin System Genes in the Etiology of Bipolar Affective Disorder. |
BPD is a common and complex human disease. Our laboratory has been devoted to applying the molecular biology and genetic techniques to illustrate the role of serotonin transmission in the etiology of BPD. |
3. Gene regulation of human fibroblast growth factor 9 |
human fibroblast growth factor 9 (FGF9) is a important and pleiotropic growth factor for cell growth with highly evolutional conservation across species. FGF9 have be show to play important roles in embryogenesis, organ development, sex development and vital maintenance. However, few studies about FGF9 gene regulation have be reported. Our lab is focus on the regulation of FGF9 gene expression and its role in sex development. |
4. Bioinformatics |
We are force on the traning course, research , and services about Bioinformatics. The ongoing research projects like LCR database and the BEST tool will also provide rich information in biomedical related studies. The study of "TAG" has identified few novel genes that are involved in the tumorigenesis. Currently we are working on biological confirmation. |
